BAL 2009 Announcement
Within the framework of the XI Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI - 25 March through 5 April) will take place the sixth edition of the Buenos Aires Lab (BAL), an event that aims to support the development and production of independent cinema in Latin America.
BAL is a mix of activities focused on the gathering of professionals and the search for financing and it is intended for filmmakers and producers of the region. These activities include the participation of professionals of the worldwide industry (producers, sellers, distributors, TV networks) who have an interest in the Latin American cinematography and are aimed at the contact and exchange between both spheres.
The 2009 edition of BAL will be held on 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 March and will be divided into the following sections:
- Co-production Meetings: between the representatives of the selected Latin American projects
and the potential co-producers from the rest of the world.
28 and 29 March. - Work in Progress: exhibition of fragments of Argentinian films in stages of shooting or completion.
27 March (presentation). - Bridges: the first workshop for producers of Latin America and Europe that will enable both regions
to work jointly for 5 days in Buenos Aires, during the 2009 edition of BAFICI.
26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 March.
