A Romanian film with enough novelty over the award-winning models of the last few years (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days) for us to almost be able to talk about a New Wave of Romanian Cinema. In his previous film (The Paper Will Be Blue), Muntean had also centered on the last days of Ceaucescu. Now his interests seem to be much farther, without the need of resorting to fashionable political or aesthetic alibis.
