Synopsis
There are debts, there are mandates. Unos pocos buenos amigos isn't narrated by Luis Ospina, nor is it confessional and, however, it ends up being as much a film of Luis as it is of his great friend Andrés Caicedo, and, of course, Cali's. Because Caicedo, the film-buff's martyr, the young, long-haired suicidal writer, the critic of Ojo al Cine magazine, could perfectly not exist in the pop blogosphere if it weren't for Ospina. He made sure Caicedo wasn't forgotten. He took the risk of being overshadowed by Caicedo, maybe feeling that sometimes, in life, one of the most important roles one can get is simply being friends with someone who needs them. Unos pocos buenos amigos is the oral and visual biography of a ghost. Of someone who isn't here anymore and is everywhere. Who has left a mark in all those people from Cali who are conscious that the peak of their existences has already passed. Unos pocos buenos amigos establishes Caicedo, and gives him a voice and an image. There are friendships and losses that leave a mark, and this modest film is the proof of that, it's the mark, and it makes us feel a little sad when we realize that not everyone has the luck of having a friend like Luis Ospina.
