Synopsis

A horror comedy, in a very strict sense: the Victorian era, body snatchers in rural Ireland, a job with its rules, even with its mafias and thugs. And there are corpses and more corpses. A regular corpse, an ordinary dead person, isn’t worth the same as that of a vampire’s corpse. Of course, the “corpse” of a vampire is more dangerous; you know that. One of the body snatchers is played by Larry Fessenden (star of Kelly Reichardt’s River of Grass and director of The Last Winter, both of them present in this Bafici, and here he looks a lot like the nuttiest Jack Nicholson). Well, his character in I Sell the Dead starts off decapitated. After that, his disciple in the craft of body snatching will tell Father Duffy (Ron Hellboy Perlman) about their most outrageous adventures in roads, cemeteries and taverns. And there’s a lot more: more gore, more jokes, more punches, more monsters, more unlikely corpses, and more confrontations in this film with a taste of the old Hammer House.
